An Active Server Page (ASP) enables you to create interactive Web pages that are customized to your site’s visitors. For example, your ASP scripts can take input provided by a visitor, such as a user name, and use that information to access data stored in a relational database and then modify the page specifically for that user.  ASP files end with the .asp extension.
